Days of heavy traffic on the Asiago and Lavarone Plateau. Traffic of orienteering champions with about 50 athletes representing Switzerland, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic.
Two great weeks of WOC training in the Italian Dolomites flavored with good food, pasta, coffee and lots of fun. Approximately one month before the World Orienteering Championships, it's time of selections for the best competitors in orienteering world and test soils. The races will start with the sprint and sprint relay in Venice and Trento, ending with the races in the woods (long distance, middle distance and relay) near Lavarone Lavarone and Asiago.
In these weeks, the Swedish and Swiss national teams selected ten runners for the WOC Team and these orienteers have already demonstrated a good level of training for medal.
The training camp has been very good with some world defending champions present and ready to reconfirmation. Although some land were still covered by snow all good and the weeks were spent in the sun and good weather, leaving a good picture of what to expect from the land WOC and to prepare for the races in July.
