SCHOOL
The philosophy of Orienteering allows us to approach the environment and stay in close contact with nature.
Local high schools students regularly practice orienteering with instructors and teachers. Local historians teach them about the historical facts about the areas, going back to the Great War. We also teach students about the current state of our local natural areas.
The local schools participate in a competition for the creation of a mascot for this event. They thereby get to know the local areas. This competition is possible thanks to the support of local orienteering associations, the State Forestry Corps, Environmental Guides and the Museum of Asiago.
The students have to send the drawings by 20 December 2013. The organizers of the competition will appoint a jury - made up of experts in the territory, the world of orienteering, teaching and communication. The jury will select the entries that best capture the spirit of the initiative. In January, the winning idea will be transformed into the mascot of the world which will be presented to the press.
Numerous side-events connected with the initiative will take place at local schools. These include an exhibition, some merchandising, and an award to the Institute of origin of the design for the improvement of school sports facilities.
